Local Educator is Awarded Grant for Innovative Classroom Activities
KNOB NOSTER–October 3, 2023–Tina Brown, a Special Education Teacher at Knob Noster
Middle School in Knob Noster School District received a $600 grant from the Central Region
Missouri State Teachers Association. Mrs. Brown was one of 5 educators from the Central
Region awarded a grant to implement an innovative classroom activity. The grant is funded by
contributions from Missouri State Teachers Association members in the Central Region. Grant
recipients will create a display of the student activities to share with fellow educators at next
year’s MSTA/Central Region Spring Banquet.
Mrs. Brown plans to use the grant for flexible seating, fidgets that aid in concentration and
building self-confidence, and timers to help students set time-on-task goals.
