Missouri Military Youth of the YearPictured below is Grace’e Carr. She is in the Missouri Capitol building (where she met with the Governor) and was named Missouri Military Youth of the Year!!

To be eligible, an individual must first be nominated and selected by their Youth Center, in this case-Whiteman AFB Youth Center. Next, Grace’e had to write and submit 4 essays (Military Experience, Youth Center Experience, Personal Brand/Bio, and Vision for America’s Youth). Grace’e then had to write and memorize a 3- minute speech that was presented to a panel of judges, followed by an in-depth interview process entailing a minimum of 16 questions.  There was no notice or prep for the interview and questioning.  Grace’e was being judged the minute she arrived in Jefferson City. When she was announced as the Missouri Military Youth of the Year, Grace’e was asked to present her speech publicly to 300+ attendees at the State Youth of the Year banquet.

Along with the title of Missouri Military Youth of the Year, Grace’e received $6,000 in college scholarship money.  Grace’e and her mother will be traveling to Chicago in July when she will compete for the Regional Military Youth of the Year.
